About Holcim
Holcim (New Zealand) Ltd has origins that date back to 1888 in Otago. Today Holcim employs more than 550 people throughout its four divisions: Cement, Concrete & Aggregates, Lime, and Corporate.

What are the main operations of Holcim?
Cement
  • Holcim produces more than 500,000 tonnes annually
  • Holcim operates marine terminals, located at Westport,Onehunga, Napier, Wellington, Nelson, Lyttelton, and Dunedin.
  • Local production is supplemented by imported cement to meet market demands.
  • About 90% of cement is delivered to customers in bulk; 10% in bags.
Aggregates
  • Holcim operates out of two quarries, Bombay and Hastings, which supply approximately one million tonnes annually.
  • Further supplies of aggregates are produced by Milbrook Quarries (50% owned) and Atlas Resources (25% owned).
Concrete
  • Holcim operates a network of 34 ready mixed concrete plants owned by subsidiaries Holcim Concrete (100% owned) and AML (50% owned).
Lime
  • Holcim has two lime operations: McDonald's Lime (72% owned) in the Waikato, and Taylor's Lime (100% owned) in Otago.
  • Both operations produce burnt and hydrated lime, agricultural lime and a range of ground calcium carbonates.
