| The Facility |
The property encompasses nearly 3,900 acres and includes four major elements that maximize the advantages of the chosen location: • Sufficient space for the manufacturing facility and associated buildings • Harbor • Quarry • 2,200 acre buffer area to be left in a natural state The plant will be a single kiln line Portland cement manufacturing facility that includes a raw material processing system, coal mill system, product processing system, and material receiving and product shipping systems. It will generate 4 million metric tons of cement annually and employ about 200 full-time employees. The quarry will provide high-quality natural resources, which will reduce air emissions from the plant and produce a premium product. Though permitted to extend to about 1,300 acres over 100 years, the quarry will be mined in increments no larger than 200 acres at any given time. |
